Here you can find the answers to our most frequently asked questions:


What are your opening hours?

Opening Hours:  We are open 8:30am - 4.30 pm Monday to Saturday;  9 am - 4 pm on Sundays (excluding the Christmas, Valentine's and Mother's Day periods when we will close at 5.30 pm).

Cafe Hours: 8:30am - 4pm Monday to Saturday; 9am - 4pm Sunday. Food to order is served until 3.30 pm every day. Drinks & cakes served until 4pm every day.

Christmas Opening Hours:  We are open every day up to and including Christmas Eve.  We shall be closed from Christmas Day and will re-open on 12 January 2026.

Easter Opening Hours:  We are open as normal on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.  We close on Easter Sunday.


Do you deliver?
Yes, we can deliver all gift flowers, funeral tributes, plants, compost, gravels, garden care and accessories.


Can deliveries still be contactless?
Yes, provided you let us know that this is what you want: pay online, we will drop items outside your door, knock/ring the bell, and then will stand back over 2m away until you open the door.


Which areas do you deliver to?
We can now deliver to all 'L' (Liverpool) postcodes, plus PR8, PR9, WA8, WA9, WA10, WA11 and WN8.


Can you do same day deliveries?
We will most likely be able to deliver same day to our immediate local area (L31 & L39 postcodes) but you will need to call the shop to order for same day. Next day delivery is always available, but please try give as much notice as you can. Same day deliveries cannot be ordered online.


How do I order?
All orders can be placed on our website, all plants and garden items are listed under ‘buy plants online’ in the top menu bar of our website. For flowers, you can search by design type or occasion. Please call us to order funeral tributes. You can also place an order by calling us on 0151 526 1577.


Can you do funeral flowers?
Yes. Feel free to take a look at the funeral section of our website. We advise that you call us or come into the shop to order funeral flowers so we can make sure we have everything in stock before you order and enusure your bespoke needs are met.


Are dogs allowed in your garden centre?
No, dogs are not allowed at our garden centre or cafe, only guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome. This is our company policy and there is clear signage at our entrance door. 


Are wheelchairs available?
Yes, we have a wheelchair for customer use, it is located immediately to the right as you come through our entrance door.


Is your shop accessible?
Yes, we have automatic doors for our entrance, exit, cafe & flower room. We have an accessible toilet located in the cafe. Our shop floor is all one level, with a small ramp down from the exit back to the car park. Should you need any further assistance, we are happy to help. You can let a member of staff know on arrival, or alternatively give us a call prior to your visit on 0151 526 1577.


Do you accept cash and card?
Yes we accept cash, credit card, debit card, Amex, mobile payments (ApplePay etc), plus HTA gift cards and our own Hartley's vouchers. 


Delivery of large, heavy & bulk items

Please note that by ordering a delivery of large, heavy or bulk items, you agree to the following terms & conditions:

All deliveries will be made to kerbside only.

Our drivers will not be able to transport large / heavy / bulk goods through a house, to a back garden, into a garage, up flights of stairs or anywhere else that is not kerbside.

A delivery surcharge may be required for items that need 2 persons to deliver.

It is always under the discretion of Hartley’s whether we can deliver to your location.

Hartley’s have the right to refuse delivery if the above terms & conditions are not adhered to.

Large, heavy & bulk items may include, but are not limited to;

Large plant pots, compost, gravels, trees, topiary plants, large planted containers.
